RATES: PRIVATE CHARTERS: Charters can be tailored to suit individual requirements and prices will vary according to our costs but will not normally exceed the following standard fishing rate. Please give Dan a call to arrange your ideal trip. ALL DAY FISHING - ANY TYPE, ANY DISTANCE, UP TO 8 PEOPLE: £310 + £5 per person using our rods and terminal tackle. (More than 8 people +£40 towards crew wages). HALF DAY FISHING (Approx 5 hours) - ANY TYPE, UP TO 8 PEOPLE: £200 + £5 per person using our rods and terminal tackle. (More than 8 people +£20 towards crew wages). SPECIALIST BASSING (1st May - 15th July & 1st Sept - 31st Oct), UP TO 4 PEOPLE: £250. (Lost plugs to be paid for). INDIVIDUAL RATES: ALL DAY: £40 using your own gear or £45 with tackle supplied. HALF DAY: £30 using your own gear or £35 with tackle supplied. For all day or half day trips made up of individual bookings we fish a maximum of 9 people so you don't have to worry about being cramped. MACKEREL FISHING (Approx 2.5 hrs, maybe longer if Dan has no other trip waiting): £17 per head.
BOOKINGS AND DEPOSITS: A 50% deposit is generally required before a charter can be firmly booked. I regret that we have to ask for this but I have been let down too many times in the past to operate purely on trust. If a trip has to be cancelled due to the weather you will have the option of rescheduling another date or a full refund of the deposit. TOP TIP- If you have drawn the short straw and are in charge of booking the trip, make sure that all members of the group have stumped up their cash before booking as its amazing how often friends will back out on the morning of a trip because of a hangover leaving the remaining members to make up the difference. The fee for chartering the boat remains the same whether there are 11people or 2 people in the HOURS: All day charter means all day. Have no fear of being short changed on the hours. I am so addicted to fishing that the crew normally has to beg to go home! If you charter the boat for the day we can leave and return when you want - the fee if the same whether you want 8 hours or 12. TACKLE: We have about 20 rods and reels on the boat from 1 oz spinners to 30lb conger rods but given that we can take up to 11 passengers we will never be able to have the perfect rods and reels for every situation. If you have specific requirements regarding tackle please feel free to bring your own. We do not charge for lost gear and we don’t get upset if a few leads are lost but when I say “come 10 winds up from the bottom”, please don’t leave your gear sitting in the wreck. WEATHER: We are fortunate in being situated on the more sheltered coast and provided the wind is generally from the west we can safely and comfortably go to sea in virtually a gale. We do not take chances with the weather and don’t go to sea if it’s going to be deeply uncomfortable let alone unsafe. You don’t have to worry about being taken out in unsafe conditions - we don’t do it. As to whether it will be comfortable or not – that’s a very subjective matter. Generally speaking, if you’re looking at booking a trip in the winter months (when the fishing is at its best) do not be surprised if its not flat calm. Take sea-sickness remedies if in doubt and avoid late nights and excessive booze the night before. If a crew has ever had enough of rolling around 15 miles off, we can always move closer inshore or, if absolutely necessary look for some rays or tope in a few deep pits in the Fal estuary. I and I alone am able to decide that a trip should be postponed due to the weather but have faith, we want our crews to return another time so we will always err on the side of comfort. Pay little attention to the TV landlubbers weather forecast and please do not expect a deposit to be returned because you don’t fancy going to sea because the forecast call Dan: 07814 191921
